On Saturday night on July 26th, after all business was completed in our old Kansas City location at 594 Mexico City Avenue, Regional Director Colleen Rowland and her team in MCI turned out the lights, caught a few winks of sleep, and picked up right where they left off on Sunday morning at 1044 Mexico City Avenue, in a newly refurbished facility just down the road from the old one!
Station Manager Steve Devries and Station Supervisor John Crowley invested many hours to keep the operation running smoothly and without missing a beat as they simultaneously moved out of the old building, cleaned it and made repairs in order to turn in back to our old facility in good condition.
Our customers United Cargo, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Delta Cargo are happy with the upgraded facilities and complimentary about how Air General handled the move. Our staff are now enjoying 15,000 square feet of workspace with an upper level where their break room is located away from the noise and bustle of our daily operation.

The Air General Scholarship Committee was pleased and enthused by the caliber of students who participated in the 3rd annual Robert M Maloney Memorial Scholarship Program.
Each year we award $10,000 after a competition among college-age children of our employees. The money is designated to be used strictly for tuition. We interviewed some very talented and intelligent young people, and the selection of one deserving candidate was very difficult.
Ashley de la Torre, daughter of Sandra De La Torre who has worked for Air General in IAH for the past five years is our winner for 2016!
Ashley attends Texas A & M University in Kingsville. A member of the National Honor Society, she has an impressive resume of community involvement and extra-curricular activities and plans to pursue a career in Veterinarian Medicine.
We are also pleased to share a thank you note from Ashley after she received the scholarship:
“I just wanted to thank you for the scholarship your company provides. I am the recipient of the Robert M. Maloney Scholarship this year and I wanted to give my thanks. This scholarship only makes me want to keep going and push harder for what I want to accomplish. My aspiration is to become a Veterinarian and to help people and their pets recover and stay healthy. This is something I am extremely passionate about and to know that not only my family is doing everything they can to support my dream, but that your company has given me support to do so as well. Thank you for not only helping me, but others who want to succeed and follow their dreams as well. I wish I could have thanked you personally for helping my family and me.
Ashley De La Torre”
We wish Ashley the best of luck in her remaining years as an undergraduate and will expect to receive updates on her progress!
